A Gift From God

I’m adding a new feature to Boomer Back-Beat this week called, “Poetic Expressions by Sherry”. I am happy and excited to feature the work of, Sherry C. Garland. What follows is her first offering. Enjoy!

                                               A GIFT FROM GOD

                                            BY: Sherry C Garland

                                                  05/16/2012
We lost each other-just by chance, somewhere along the way,

We grew and gained experience to help us cope with each confusing day

Decisions are made with challenges, trying to deal with a re-emerging past.

Still they continue to grow, each memory, seeming more vivid than the last.

We raised our families and ourselves,

Others mistakes we tried not to mirror,

Through health’s debilitating afflictions,

Yet having strength in a love’s convictions

We were forced to face a life long fear.

So after many, many years it is so great to meet again.

To reacquaint hearts that have known sorrow, yet soared.

We are friends once again,

And we both know my Dear Friend,

Reuniting was all the work of the Lord.

Sherry has worked as a secretary and in sales. She is now retired and lives with her husband in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

  1. Hi Sherry,
Thank you so much for this beautiful poem and for sharing it here on, Boomer Back-Beat. It really is wonderful to reunite in friendship with you after such a long time. It lets me know that God really is in control of those He brings into our lives and when. I’m excited to find out what He has planned for our friendship both now and in the future and I’m very excited to have your poetry featured on my blog!

    Love,
    Pam

  2. Thank you Pam. The opportunity to share my poetry is enormous. After all it is a gift from God.
